Jared Etheridge
CFI / CFII • Commercial Pilot • …Beard Optional
Certified flight instructor and CFII based in Ormond Beach, FL. Army veteran. Career sales leader. Aviation is what I kept coming back to, and I bring everything from those chapters into every flight and every lesson.
A Different Kind of Instructor
In the Army, I was a Brigade Adjutant and an artilleryman. Not only did I manage readiness for over 1,500 soldiers across 5 battalions and 45 platoons, but I also learned what it actually means to be responsible for people. That experience shaped how I approach everything, including teaching.
After the Army, I spent several years in corporate sales at Verizon, AT&T, and US Cellular, training teams, coaching individuals, and running operations for as many as 17 retail stores. I was decent at it. But aviation kept pulling me back.
I went back to school at Embry-Riddle, earned my Commercial certificate, CFI, and CFII, and I am currently instructing at Air America Flight Center in Daytona Beach. I hold a B.S. in Aeronautical Science and am finishing an MBA in Supply Chain at ERAU. I am not here to log hours on your students. I am here because I actually enjoy teaching people to fly.
If that sounds like the kind of CFI you are looking for, I would be glad to talk.
What You Are Actually Getting
Three things that matter when you put someone in your right seat.
Teaching Is Something I Am Actually Good At
Before I ever sat in a cockpit, I was training sales teams and coaching managers across multiple locations. I know how to figure out why something is not clicking for a student and explain it a different way. Getting someone through a checkride is part of the job. Making sure they actually understand the material is the part I care about.
I Show Up Prepared
Every lesson has a plan. Every flight has a purpose. I come from a background where being unprepared had real consequences, and that has stayed with me. Whether it is a first solo debrief or a complex IFR scenario, I will have done the work before we even preflight.
This Is Not a Stepping Stone for Me
I left a comfortable career because aviation is what I wanted to do. Flight instruction is not something I am tolerating on the way to something else. If you hire a CFI who actually wants to be there, your students will notice it from the first lesson.

Looking for Your Next CFI?
I am available now and actively looking. If you run a flight school or know someone who does, I would be glad to connect.
